About me

Age:
18

Born:
Hobart, Tasmania

Background:
I'm currently studying full time at College, and trying to fit as much cycling in as I can. I live in southern Tasmania, which gives me the privilege of having Mt.Wellington at my doorstep, allowing me to train as hard and as long as I want.  I aspire to one day represent Australia in Cross Country Mountain Biking, but for the moment I must work my way up the ranks. I was lucky enough to have been picked up by Sid Taberlay, who helped and looked out for me, but due to time commitments with him I have since moved onto Phil Leslie, who helps me train towards my goals and future aspirations.

I've only been properly training since towards the end of 2012, although it was halted considerably after I broke my arm and fractured my scaphoid one night trying to beat some Strava KOMs... never did I try and beat them at night again. However, i've recovered and now I'm back up and running (or riding anyway.. what a pun)
Other than that, I'm relatively new to the sport compared to everyone else out there, but a bit of hard work and who knows what could happen.

Favourite Places:
Probably my favourite places to and ride would be around the hilly landscape of Mount Wellington. At 1200m elevation, and the summit being only about 25km away from home, it's very easily accessible and provides a very effective training area. As well as being a perfect spot for training, it provides a lot of fast and fun downhill as well for when I'm on the Mountain Bikes - you couldn't really ask for a better spot!

Other than that, there's a small reserve about 3km from home which has a few nice, gentle trails in it for when I'm not feeling it and just want a cruisy ride.

  1. Why do you have big legs but small arms? Is this bodyception?
